Crag Name: Sand Rock, AL
Name of the Route: Comfortably Numb, 5.9
Best Feature: A sparse slab with marginal gear makes a committing first 30 feet before you get a beautiful overhanging jughaul.
What Makes it Special: It's probably the prettiest (and tallest) face at Sand Rock, with big moves and big holds looking out over the Alabama lowlands. The slab is engaging and spicy until it pops you onto a ledge to contemplate the intimidating overhang looming above you. The holds are good enough that you can monkey around a bit and enjoy the ride.
When to Climb It: Fall and Spring
Staffer: James Mixon
