Do you or have you ever had a Nickname?

I've never really had a nickname. There's not a lot of other Rexes in the world...I think that's why nothing else has ever really stuck!

Who are you, and why are you in Nashville?

I'm a jack of all trades, master of none, travelling across the country with my amazing wife and our pup. We're currently in Nashville while she works on her master's degree at Vanderbilt.

Why do you Climb?

Climbing was the first thing that I decided to pursue that was really outside of my comfort zone and seemed unattainable to me as a young flatlander. I'm attracted to the challenge and the never-ending progression that climbing offers - there's always something new to learn.

Do you have a favorite Route Outside?

Half Route in Kolob Canyon, Zion National Park. It's the only climb that I go out of my way to do every time I'm within 500 miles of it.

What's rad about your life right now, on or off the wall?

Life is sweet - I'm grateful to be here, doing what I'm doing. I'm surrounded by great people in a great city at a great gym!

I've got a lot of irons in the fire right now and I'm psyched on all of them. I'm always at the gym, come have a conversation with me sometime and I'll tell you about them!
