Meet the Climb Nashville Staff

We are fortunate to have a extremely fine staff on board at Climb Nashville. Below, you’ll find a brief bio for a few of our finest.

Lance Brock

Lance Brock has been climbing (and falling) for 14 years in the South and across the country. He served on the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Climbers Coalition and the Access Fund. He was also the SCC president for 2 years and is a sponsored climber for La Sportiva. He was a licensed architect in a previous life so he is perfect to be in charge of dusting for Climb Nashville. Lance graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BS degree. Seriously, Bachelor of Science. What were you thinking? E-mail Lance with any questions or comments.

Drew Sloss

Drew Sloss is head knucklehead. In charge of shenanigans and general mischief, Drew spends most of his days taking naps or concocting new ways to look busy while at work. Also in charge of marketing, he can be seen taping flyers to different walls at Climb Nashville. Drew has a degree in Mechanical Engineering although currently he only engineers ways to keep from getting fired. Send an email with your marketing, P/R, or merchandising questions to Drew. He’ll respond after his nap.

Dave Boyer

Dave Boyer is the former head manager of Classic Rock Gym and we love having him on the Climb Nashville team. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from James Madison University in the late 1900’s, back when music was “performed” rather than downloaded. His bike racing and geotechnical experience meant he was the right guy to manage our gym. (We’ve since updated our job requirements). If you have any questions about the gym give him a call or send an email to Dave.

Kyle Musgrove

Kyle Musgrove is the gym’s head routesetter, and many know him only as the dreaded KM. Whether you love or hate his routes, you’re stuck with him, so deal with it. Kyle has been setting for more than seven years and has many comps under his belt including ABS6, 7 and 8 regionals and Sendfest in SLC. Upcoming for Kyle, more routes at the gym, ABS9 regionals, nationals and straight playin’ fool. Word. You can also send any comments or route suggestions to Kyle.

Joshua Livasy

Joshua Livasy hails from Decatur, Illinois. Joshua has no sense of humor, so we aren’t saying anything funny about him. OK, his Thai fisherman pants are funny. Joshua is our Assistant Manager but also sets routes and heads up graphic design. He received a degree in art from Illinois State University in 2003. Shoot Joshua an email.

Tyson Martin

Tyson Martin rolled in from the unfortunately chilly and featureless state of Pennsylvania a couple of years ago. Tyson is another Assistant Manager and spends his days running the afterschool programs, summer camps, or hanging out with other young climbers. Tyson’s background is in Team Building, Rock Climbing, Outdoor Leadership, and Xbox all of which he learned getting his degree from Slippery Rock University. He loves to talk gear, check out local crags and spend time with his fiance, Stacy, and their black lab, Sir Tucker of Battlewood. If you don’t run into Tyson at a local concert, you can email him.

Josh Harris

Josh recently joined the Climb Nashville team, and is here to keep the instruction programs so fresh and so clean. Since graduating from Middle Tennessee with a BS in Outdoor Recreation, he’s been traveling around the southeast sharing his outdoor love with all who will listen – which he found was not a profitable industry (believe it or not ramen and cat food do go well together). This is also the reason he’s carless (a word meaning without a car). When not in the gym look for Josh on his bike dodging Nashville drivers and dogs and trying to avoid self induced crashes. Give Josh a honk, ring, or shoot an email if you need to pull a little harder or want to brush up on your rope skillz and always remember to share the road.
